Hands Free Web Browsing

Overview and Setup

For a lot of us, even when writing code - a LOT of time is spent in a web browser. Tapping, clicking, and scrolling around on the web can cause a lot of RSI issues. Using VoiceCode and Vimium together you can go totally hands-free (or you can use hands for certain things, and voice for others).

Google Chrome Recommended

For this tutorial we are using Google Chrome. The Vimium plug-in may be available for other browsers, but the Chrome version works very well.

Install Vimium

Follow the instructions and intro here: https://vimium.github.io

Phonetic Alphabet

Vimium makes use of lots of keyboard shortcuts like pressing `f`, `F`, or `hj` to display or go to links on the page. So it is highly recommended to practice and get quick at using the phonetic spelling method to be able to quickly enter any combination of one or two letters.

Commands and Vocabulary

This tutorial makes use of the following commands. So make sure each of the packages are installed and the commands are enabled before you start.

(remember, the first part of each command identifier is the package name that it comes from)

Miscellaneous
`common` package
`scrolling` package
