Troubleshooting

Issues With Dragon

Dragon crashes at start up

Sometimes, Dragon gets into an inconsistent state and will not start up correctly. Deleting the command files almost always solves this issue.

  • Quit VoiceCode
  • Quit Dragon Dictate
  • Manually delete all the files located in the directory ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dragon/Commands/
  • Launch Dragon
  • Quit Dragon
  • Start VoiceCode

If this doesn't fix it, post your exact details and issue on the forum or slack group, and we will get it sorted.

Changes not taking effect

If changes you have made from VoiceCode don't seem to be taking effect, you may be able to easily resolve the problem by completing the following procedure:

  • If some command is not being recognized, make sure that it has been enabled
  • Make sure that the VoiceCode vocabulary files have been imported into Dragon
  • Restart VoiceCode

Issues With VoiceCode

Dictation doesn't work - "nothing happens"

First, open the VoiceCode log and then say a phrase like @hello [email protected] and see if any activity shows up in the log.

If there is no activity in the log, double check that your microphone is enabled and that you have done the dragon profile set up and voice training.

Strange errors in the VoiceCode log

VoiceCode touches so many different areas on your system, that it is difficult to enumerate the possible error cases. Post your error or a screenshot on the forum or the slack group, and we will get it figured out.
