iTerm2 Setup

The keystrokes that need to be altered for iTerm are:

  • ⌘ delete
  • ⌥ delete
  • ‍⌥→
  • ‍⌥←
  • ‍⌘→
  • ⌘←

**Note in the image below, “delete” is displayed as “←Delete” (specifying backward delete)

Make sure that in iTerm2 you set up each of the following global shortcut keys:

iterm1
iterm2
iterm3
iterm4
iterm5
iterm6

Next, make sure that in iTerm the right click on your mouse is set to perform smart selection like the following screenshot shows:

Then you will be able to use the command: “engage”, to “cd” into whatever directory name your mouse is hovering over in the iTerm window. This is one of my favorite features since it almost makes navigating the shell interface into a GUI. to go up a directory just say “durrup”. To see other "shell" related commands, click on the "shell" tag on the commands page.
